This was drawn as a Christmas present for my mum. I'm pretty sure she doesn't check my dA-account so it should be save to upload it, even though it's supposed to be a surprise for her.
For those of you who don't know: This is Rainald Grebe, a German cabaret artist that my mum loves.
It was really fun to draw this portrait, I tried a new technique with this: didn't bother to draw a sketch first and instead started in full details with one of the eyes and worked my way from there. So much more fun and it makes me put more detail in my work, too. If I have already worked on an area (however sketchy it may be) I often find myself being to lazy to return and work on it again
so starting in full detail seems like a good solution for me.
I'm also quite happy with how this turned out and pretty excited to see what my mum will say when I give it to her. TL;DR Fun.
Sorry, I don't know why I'm typing so much today.
Thank you for taking a look, everyone, and I hope you'll enjoy it!
